Sorge–AKA Alexey, the mastermind behind MiSTer–ported Jotego’s (Jose Tejada) open-source Ghosts ‘n Goblins MiST FPGA core to MiSTer, and released it today. A user shared a pre-compiled ROM here, and the core itself can be obtained using the Updater Script or on Github. The Ghosts ‘n Goblins [Makaimura] arcade PCB platform was similar to several […]
I joined the My Life in Gaming weekly stream to talk all things MiSTer. We set a new record for viewers on the channel, with almost 550 people tuning in for the FPGA chat at one point.
The only add-on you need to have a complete MiSTer that runs all cores is the SDRAM board, since the IO board is only necessary for adding analog output (RGB/RGBS/RGBHV/VGA/Component to SCART/BNC/RCA/VGA/etc) and to house the fan. Using the IO board as a fan mount is complete overkill if you only need HDMI output though, […]
Smokemonster just posted a great overview of the MiSTer FPGA platform. He explains what it is, how you can use it…and how to get some of the amazing FPGA cores!
The PC Engine / TurboGraphx 16 FPGA core originally developed by @Torlus has been ported to the MiSTer board (a faster MiST FPGA board) thanks to GreyRogue and Sorgelig. Here is the link: https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/TurboGrafx16_MiSTer Thanks to ElectronAsh to report the news.
