Limited Run Games (LRG) is coming out with a set of new replacement long box jewel cases. These would be replacements designed for the SEGA CD, Saturn, and/or Sony Playstation 1 clear style long cases. Available on Friday 31 July 2020. Cases will be sold as a unit set of 10 cases per pack, and LRG states there will be 500 units for order. They will follow up with a secondary listing setup to do preorders for a subsequent production run. It is also important to note that there is a small window of availability to order. Limited Run Games states the window to order these cases will be open for 3 days, but did add that, “We will likely offer them again at some point in the future.” The cost for a set of 10 long box cases is $79.99.
Limited Run Games has previously stated that they had been working on this project in the past but had been held back from selling the long box cases due to the harsh nature of shipping. However they state they have had developed a shipping container which they feel could reduce the chance of these cases arriving damaged. With the hope that this can be a solution for individuals looking for a near authentic replacement to long box cases. Which have historically been incredibly prone to damage.
