Exidy 440
Anton Gale has been working on an Exidy 440 core, but development has been longer than expected. This is due to Anton wanting to restore an Exidy 440 cabinet, for the game Cheyenne.
Exidy 400 is arcade hardware from the early 80’s that was used to run many lightgun games.

MiSTer MIDI Board
hans-tweaker on reddit created an open source MIDI board that allows you to connect an external synthesizer, like a Roland Sound Canvas, to your MiSTer FPGA. This device has the added feature of being able to route audio back to the MiSTer via I2S.
This is a summary of how it works:
- The MIDI board connects to the MiSTer via the user port on the IO board.
- The MIDI board connects to the synth using a MIDI cable.
- The synth’s audio is fed back via a 3.5mm jack.
This should provide a cleaner solution for people wanting to use original external sound modules.
