Analogue has just put out a press release that they’ll be selling a “highly limited” edition of their Pocket handheld console. This is a new level of Analogue FOMO marketing and I can’t stop laughing. Price is $250 + premium, limited, glow-in-the-dark shipping and it’s available between 11:00 and 11:01AM this Friday September 1st (and shipping the following week):

For the record, I think the Pocket is awesome and worth every penny. And clearly I’m giving props to Analogue’s marketing, as every tech blog is playing right into their marketing tricks…including me! And heck, I even think the glow in the dark edition is really neat! I just don’t think I’ll ever be able to stop referring to them as “Highly Limited Analogue” from now on.
…and I can’t wait to see what they’ll do next. Seriously – No sarcasm, no trolling, I’m legit blown away at how good Chris Taber is as getting people to talk about their products and I wonder what the next press release will be. How about a “Strictly Limited Duo“, that comes with Rondo???
