8Bitdo have just opened pre-orders on the latest version of their “Pro” controller. This has some new features like Swappable Magnetic ABXY Buttons, which allow you to switch between Switch and Xbox layouts with the included button puller. It also has TMR joysticks with 12-bit ADC sampling chip and it allows you to switch between linear Hall Effect triggers and non-linear tactile triggers. The Pro 3 connects to your device via Bluetooth, wired USB, or 2.4GHz RF viaan included USB-C wireless receiver. The price is $70 with a choice of three colors (‘Classic’, Grey & Purple) and they’re due to arrive to customers in about a month:

While the price is high, it does include a charging dock, which is pretty handy. It’s also listing official compatibility as Switch 1 & 2, Windows PC, Apple, SteamOS, and Android devices…which means it’s sure to work with the MiSTer and other emulation devices.
As always, I’m interested to see what the latency is for each mode, as the Pro 2 controller’s lag was all over the place: As low as 6ms via wired USB and as high as 21ms via wireless! Hopefully 8Bitdo put some effort into getting the lowest latency possible…but I guess we’ll see next month when its released!
