Sonic Hacking Contest 2020

YouTube user RedHotSonic posted a trailer for the Sonic Hacking Contest 2020 on October 22. Starting in 2002, the Sonic Hacking Contest (or SHC for short) is a yearly competition where people can submit their own Sonic ROM hacks and mods.

There are 2 sections, the Contest where they each earn trophies based on different criteria. And then there is the Expo, where hacks are submitted but don’t earn any trophies. This year the contest will open to the public on October 26. On that same day will be when the SHC livestreams start, where people like Somecallmejohnny, MegaGWolf, RedHotSonic, and more will be streaming themselves playing the contest entries at set times from Monday to Friday. With it all being capped off with the results show on the Sunday of the week.

You can get the hacks from sonichacking.org (Assuming the site doesn’t go down on the opening day), and if you want to follow the contest on social media, they have a Twitter page. If you would like to see what you can expect from the contest and expo sections, there is a vault section which has all the entries from 2012 to 2019.

Thanks to Chrisfratz for the guest post submission!!!
