NES Wheel of Fortune buys a new lease on life

Thanks to the work of a hacker named Chris Beaumont, the NES version of Wheel of Fortune just got a new lease on life.  According to his blog post, he really, really loves playing Wheel of Fortune.  Unfortunately, he enjoys it so much that the outdated puzzles were cramping his style.

Luckily, he’s a really smart guy with just enough free time to figure out how to fix that issue by hacking the ROM itself.  In a blog post, he details exactly how he did it, and how it’s technically possible to have unlimited puzzles on an emulator via script. For real hardware users, you’ll just have to settle for 1,000 new puzzles whenever you patch the ROM.

If you’re curious about how he did this, just head over to his site
