History of the CRT Display

Cathode Ray Tube technology dates back to the mid 19th century starting with the invention of the sealed glass vacuum tube.  This sealed vacuum tube lead to the discovery of the electron by the late 19th century.  These tubes were developed into the most influential screen display tech of the 20th century, the television.  To learn more on the history of the CRT and early broadcast television, check out this presentation I wrote and gave at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston in May of 2022.  This presentation spans the beginning of the CRT from its development and influence on broadcast television up until today, where we still find many using the CRT display format.
