The C27G2C from AOC is a 27″, curved LCD gaming monitor with a native resolution of 1080p that supports up to 240Hz. There’s only about 2ms of lag in 120Hz and 240Hz modes, however any 60Hz source will increase the latency to about 11ms. If you’re looking for a budget monitor for 1080p120, 1080p144 or 1080p240 gaming, this one’s an excellent choice. There’s less laggy options for 50 and 60Hz sources though and of course there’s much better displays out there…for a lot more money. Check out the really short unboxing and lag test video above and there’s more thoughts after the link:

I originally purchased this display to see how it would work with BFI in high frame rates, with retro 60Hz sources. And after spending weeks testing this and other LCD monitors, I just don’t think LCD displays can take advantage of external BFI…at least not with the same results you’d get from OLED displays. Since this is a very cheap monitor, there’s no built-in BFI, which is the only way I’ve seen it work well with LCD’s (as opposite to BFI being added by PC or external processors). So you’re welcome to give this a try with something like the RetroTINK 4K’s CRT Beam emulation, but make sure you set realistic expectations.
As for how it looks overall, I can say it definitely doesn’t feel like a sub-$200 display when running in 120 or 240Hz! Once again, this is a budget display so there’s no way you can compare it to a high-end OLED gaming monitor. But as far as cheap 1080p displays go, I thought it was bright and looked great. It was also compatible with the OSSC in all modes and CRT mask emulation looked as good as it can with 1080p LCD displays. With HDR enabled, it definitely didn’t get too dim and I really liked how the curved panel looked; It made me consider upgrading my main monitor to a curved 4K one!
I certainly wouldn’t buy it just for 60Hz sources, but if you were looking for a cheap display that can handle both modern 120 and 240Hz gaming and be compatible with lower-cost retro gaming scalers like the OSSC, this one is a great choice.
